As of today, I am a National Certified Counselor. The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) explains "National Certified Counselors (NCC) are board certified counselors who offer the highest standards of practice because they have met stringent education, examination, supervision, experience, and ethical requirements." In other words, I finished a whole bunch of extra work to meet the high standards of NBCC and secure this important professional achievement.
The "alphabet soup" after my name is now as follows: Deborah Tebault, MA, LPCC, NCC
MA = Master of Arts in Counseling: Clinical Mental Health
LPCC = Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (candidate means I'm still under the supervision of a senior counselor, who ensures my work meets Colorado's professional standards)
NCC = National Certified Counselor
I'm thankful for alphabet soup that offers folks a snapshot of my qualifications, but I know the real proof is in the pudding. Current clients - nothing helps me grow into a better counselor as much as your authentic feedback! Potential clients - I offer a free 30 minute consultation so you can get more than a snapshot of how we can work together. I look forward to being the best counselor for you that I can be!
